I only have words, yet they can “be attacked.” I've heard of “Turtle Island” before. When he rattled the turtle shaker the thought occurred to me…the story of WHAT the earth is/was is not as important as the HOW. Turtle Island is the Native American Indian's sacred story. It is a wonderful thing! It is theirs! But do we ourselves have a personal story today? Having a story, personifying the earth (and all things), giving it a name, feeling the livingness of it seems the important thing.
Is it important that we see the earth as the island of a turtle, as a spaceship earth, as Gaia, or is it more important to see the world is not outside of us? I don't know. I'm just one person. At the moment I like the phrase “Mother Earth.” Would you rape your own mother?
Inspiring! Thanks :)
